| On the Rise Bakery is a local business dedicated to serving the sweet and savory in Richmond, Vermont. The heart of our business is the bakery ovens and the long list of products that we create from scratch and bake every day. Just as our menu centers on food grown and/or produced locally, we also seek to highlight local art and entertainment. Through our community coffeehouse atmosphere we aim to promote culture of sustainability and cooperation. |

| At On the Rise we are committed
to knowing where and how the ingredients we cook with are grown and produced.
In the summertime, many of the vegetables that we use on our pizzas and
in our menu items are grown in our own gardens or on other local farms.
Maple syrup, honey, wheat flour, sweet corn, eggs, locally roasted organic
coffee, and Pop soda, all come to us from local producers who work in
the area. When we can’t kind something produced locally we look
for an organic alternative.
We hope that On the Rise is the kind of place where customers can enjoy good food and drink while meeting with friends old and new. OTR provides free wireless Internet for those who want to stay and work. Four nights a week, On the Rise is home to a live music series that features excellent local musicians in an intimate setting. The bakery also hosts open mics and jam sessions that provides local musicians a chance to play music and share ideas. Remaining nights at on the rise are programmed with live music or films of local interest. As we grow we continue to be open to new ideas for evening programs. Please drop us a line if you have ideas to share or know someone who is interested in performing. booking@ontherisebakery.net On the Rise bakery is housed in a newly constructed energy efficient
building that we designed and built ourselves. The building utilizes
the recycled wood from the structure used to stand on the site. Likewise,
the bricks of our wood fired oven came from the old house. The timber
frame roof structure is cut from local pine that we cut here in Richmond.
From the construction of our building, to growing our own vegetables
and lugging our food waste offsite to our own composting operation,
we continue to think and act whenever possible in a sustainable and
responsible way. |
