Group Art Show and Sale
Here is the deal. We are in need of some new sound equipment to make On the
Rise At Night sound even better than it already does. Our speakers and amplifier
are great. The mixer we have been using is starting to lose some of its channels.
The monitor system we have needs improvement and a few more mics are in order,
especially when we bring in the big bands. To raise money for these purchases
we came up with an idea that is fun and will involve all of us in a creative
venture. For the month of May at OTR the art on the walls will be pieces made
for the “cheap art sale”. We are asking supporters of art and music
at On the Rise to create sketches, prints, collages, and photos: anything that
you can hang on the wall to contribute to this extravaganza. Customers can buy
works off the wall and 100% of all proceeds will go directly to the purchase
of our new sound equipment.
Why can’t On the Rise
Bakery purchase the equipment needed?
We are a small venue. We don’t make a lot of money on the music. We are
committed to bringing music, film and theatre to the community, but we need
your support in sustaining the effort. Sale of drinks and food pays for our
materials and employees behind the counter but does not always stretch far enough
to pay for the outstanding performances you enjoy. It does not generate any
revenue to allow for equipment upgrades so we embark on this fundraising art
show.
Community Art supports local music and performance.
Aside from being a great fundraising event the art show offers everybody in
the On the Rise Community to show off his or her individual talent in a group
art show that we hope will cover every square foot of our available wall space.
The visual impact should be stunning and inspiring. Thank you in advance for
your participation.
Party!
We will have an installation/ opening party on Weds April 30th. The evening
will get everybody involved together to put up the artwork, listen to music,
eat free fresh pizza and have a great time. Schedule and details to be announced
soon.
All the best,
Ben&Rae
